The DACOR Bacon House Foundation (DBHF) announced the inaugural Sherry Barndollar Rock Scholarship for meeting the education needs of Foreign Service spouses and partners, November 2021. Starting in the academic year 2022-2023, the scholarship will grant up to $4,000 for tuition annually for the education goals of the spouses and partners of Foreign Service employees assigned abroad. Barndollar Rock, who accompanied her husband on foreign assignments and was a strong supporter of the Foreign Service community, recognized the challenge that a Foreign Service career presents to spouses who must take a fragmented approach to fulfill their education goals from locations around the world. The new scholarship will join the Foundation’s current portfolio of five education award programs—including the DBHF Metro Scholarship that was awarded to De’Voncia Mickens (fifth from right) in 2016—that provide $250,000 annually.
